Anti-AI Pledge

This statement is a promise to all readers of my books and viewers of my visual art that AI will never be used in my work. I firmly believe AI, and particularly generative AI, to be antithetical to the human creative process. No machine can look ahead to the next great work of art. It can only look backward and scrape the hard work of the real human beings that came before it. In a world where it’s hard to trust our own eyes and ears, please know that if you ever engage with my written or visual work, you are (for better or worse) engaging with material made by one human with the help and advice of other very gracious humans along the way. I also demand justice for the em dash and Oxford comma. They did nothing wrong.
